Since I have VLC installed on the machine, I thought perhaps this was having an influence. ![]() At first it said, the standard "not recognised", however after clicking on Yes, the file played perfectly well. Play an mkv file on build 9860 in Windows Media Player. For instance, an MKV could contain h264 or XVID or a variety of other different video codecs but most commonly contains h264 -> MPEG-4. mkv extension is not necessarily a problem but instead the codecs used within. I have a colleague who I have asked to try a testing with another laptop we are running ten on, but he hasn't upgraded to 9879 yet. I had tried it with previous build, then upgraded to 9879, still didn't work, so installed CCCP codecs, then it worked (Volume very very low!), uninstalled CCCP codecs, stopped working again!
